Vino.H, a prominent player in the Korean wine import and distribution scene, is gearing up to break new ground in Seoul’s wine retail landscape. Amidst a challenging period for the Korean wine industry marked by shifting consumer preferences, Vino.H is charting a course towards expansion with the launch of its standalone wine shop in Munjeong-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, slated for mid-April 2024.
While Vino.H has traditionally focused on supplying wines to Hyundai Department Store’s specialty wine shop, Wine Works, and upscale dining establishments, the forthcoming Munjeong-dong store represents the company’s inaugural foray into operating its own retail space.
Dubbed “Vino.H Munjeong,” the new establishment is envisioned as a “curation showroom,” meticulously curated to showcase an exclusive array of wines imported and distributed solely by Vino.H. The store aims to provide patrons with a comprehensive exploration of wine history and the unique characteristics of various wineries. Notably, Vino.H boasts exclusive distribution agreements with boutique wineries, boasting a portfolio of over 300 wines sourced from approximately 50 brands spanning seven countries. Many of these offerings were previously undiscovered in the Korean market.
In addition to its diverse wine selection, Vino.H plans to introduce “Glass Curation,” a signature experience allowing customers to sample wines by the glass based on factors such as country of origin, grape variety, and expert sommelier recommendations.
Since its establishment in March 2022, Vino.H has garnered acclaim for its introduction of distinctive wines from small-scale wineries to Korean consumers, catering to the discerning and varied tastes of local wine enthusiasts. The company’s robust performance is underscored by a notable 77.7 percent increase in sales recorded in 2023 compared to the previous year.
