Tsingtao, the renowned beer brand, has introduced its non-alcoholic offering, Tsingtao 0.0, to the United States market. Imported by Paulaner USA, this new variant is positioned to complement the popular Tsingtao Premium Lager, targeting health-conscious consumers with its low-calorie profile of just 63 calories per bottle.
Steve Hauser, President and CEO of Paulaner USA, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “With the launch of Tsingtao 0.0, we are tapping into consumers who are reaching for non-alcoholic drinks in their bid to lower their caloric intake. Tsingtao 0.0 provides a great tasting experience, and we’re confident that consumers will enjoy it.”
Highlighting the brand’s significant growth in the US over the past two years, Hauser emphasized that Tsingtao 0.0 offers a refreshing citrus flavor with subtle malty notes, catering to various beer-drinking occasions.
Brewed and fermented using a meticulous alcohol removal and blending process, Tsingtao 0.0 boasts an ABV content of no more than 0.03%.
Established in 1903, Tsingtao Brewery has solidified its position as the sixth-largest brewer globally and China’s leading exported beer. In February, Tsingtao inked a joint distribution agreement with LEC Beverages and In Good Company for the UK market. Notably, it holds the distinction of being the top imported Chinese beer brand in the United Kingdom.
Last summer, Tsingtao celebrated a remarkable surge in its stock value, rising 24-fold since its debut on the Hong Kong stock exchange nearly three decades ago. However, the brand faced a setback when one of its brewery workers was apprehended for urinating into a malt vat, leading to a decline in shares by 7.5%. Tsingtao swiftly addressed the incident, assuring consumers that the affected batch had been securely sealed, while reiterating its commitment to stringent management procedures and product quality assurance.
