The renowned Diageo World Class Competition, celebrated as one of the pinnacle events in the realm of bartending worldwide, has made its triumphant return to the vibrant cities of Hong Kong and Macau for the year 2024. Initiating the festivities is the eagerly anticipated Diageo World Class Cocktail Festival, an extravaganza set to captivate cocktail enthusiasts from April to May 10.
This year’s festival showcases the talents of 20 esteemed mixologists hailing from the most esteemed bars across Hong Kong and Macau. Armed with the iconic spirits of Johnnie Walker Black Label and Don Julio, these skilled artisans are set to craft a symphony of flavors, offering patrons an immersive experience like no other.
The participating bartenders have been entrusted with the task of concocting cocktails that not only highlight the unique characteristics of the spirits but also adhere to designated themes – ‘Beyond A Nightcap’ for Johnnie Walker Black Label and ‘2030 Margarita’ for Don Julio.
Enthusiasts eager to embark on a journey of taste and discovery are invited to visit a selection of Hong Kong’s premier establishments including Argo, Bar Leone, Coa, Dio Cafe Bar, Gishiki Lounge, Lockdown, Mercury Recalls, Ozone, Penicillin, Qura, The Old Man, and 001. Meanwhile, in Macau, participating venues such as Aji, Aux Beaux Arts, Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill, The Mews, and Vida Rica Bar will be showcasing their exquisite creations.
Following this preliminary stage, the top 12 finalists from Hong Kong and Macau will progress to the semi-finals slated for June, where they will vie for top honors. The ultimate victor will then advance to the grand finale of the World Class competition, set to unfold in Shanghai this September.
