Washington State University’s Viticulture and Enology department is set to host a prestigious two-day symposium focused on sustainable wine production, cutting-edge technologies, and climate resilience. The symposium, titled “Tomorrow’s Vintage,” is scheduled to take place on May 9 and 10 at WSU’s Tri-Cities campus.
Distinguished speakers from various regions, including Washington, California, Australia, and New Zealand, will convene to share insights and expertise on a range of pertinent topics. Discussions will cover crucial areas such as drought adaptation, carbon capture in vineyard soils, wastewater management, pomace upcycling, and the utilization of sensor technology to enhance sustainability practices in viticulture.
This significant event is part of the esteemed Ravenholt Lecture Series, made possible through the generous endowment from Albert Ravenholt. Ravenholt, a trailblazer in the Washington wine industry and the visionary behind Sagemoor Vineyards, has left a lasting legacy that continues to shape and advance the field of viticulture and enology.
