Dikme has highlighted the influence of social media influencers in popularizing treatments labeled as “yellow serum,” “vitamin serum,” and “atom serum,” thus fueling the trend.

“The situation has escalated to the extent that we’re witnessing cases emerging from beauty centers and hair salons, with services even being offered at people’s homes. This trend is notably prevalent on social media,” Dikme remarked.

Emphasizing the inherent risks of administering such treatments in non-medical settings, Dikme cautioned that these interventions often lack personalized adjustments based on factors like age and weight, potentially precipitating severe allergic reactions.

According to Dikme, rapid-onset allergic responses can culminate in life-threatening emergencies, including respiratory distress and cardiac arrest, necessitating immediate medical attention.

She noted a surge in incidents of adverse reactions being reported to emergency departments, sometimes resulting in patients requiring intensive care.

Furthermore, Dikme stressed that the excessive doses of vitamins, particularly vitamin C and B complexes, found in these serums can needlessly burden the body, with the surplus being excreted.

Advocating for increased awareness regarding the hazards associated with such practices, Dikme cautioned against succumbing to the allure of health trends driven by social media.
