LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Embracing the spirit of craftmanship, brewers throughout Lexington are coming together to celebrate Lexington Craft Beer Week, an event running from now until next Sunday.
“Celebrating craft beer week allows us to view our industry from a broader perspective,” remarked Jesse Brasher, Director of Operations at West Sixth Brewing.
Reflecting on the sense of community within the industry, bartender Izzy Perez of Mirror Twin Brewing emphasized, “It’s a tight-knit community where everyone supports each other. Whether we’re separate businesses or not, we collaborate, share ideas, and lend a helping hand.”
One notable collaboration unfolds between West Sixth Brewing and Country Boy Brewing, as they unite to create a new beer for the 12th anniversary of the Country Western series. Brasher described it as “a little country, a little western.”
Such partnerships extend across the city, with West Sixth Brewing engaging in a collaboration with The Void Sake Co. this year.
Brasher highlighted the collective benefit of collaboration, stating, “By working together, we draw attention to the exceptional craft beer brewed here in Lexington. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
Perez added, “It’s a lot of fun. We’re like a big family, engaging in friendly competition to see who can sell the most of a shared beer.”
Furthermore, Perez noted, “Even those who aren’t typically beer enthusiasts find the courage to join in because it’s a festive occasion.”
Lexington Craft Beer Week promises to be a vibrant celebration, continuing until next Sunday, May 19, with eight participating locations.
