In a heartfelt homage to Jürgen Klopp’s illustrious tenure at Liverpool Football Club, Carlsberg and Erdinger have collaborated to release a commemorative beer collection. The initiative, titled “Believers Brew,” pays tribute to Klopp’s legacy, encapsulating his mantra of turning doubters into believers, a sentiment echoed from his inaugural press conference.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Believers Brew blends Erdinger’s signature wheat malt with Carlsberg’s renowned pilsner malt, enriched with yeasts from both breweries in a two-stage brewing process. Additionally, a touch of Red Barley infuses the beer with the iconic hue of the Liverpool kit, marrying Danish and German brewing traditions in a single red ale.
Available exclusively through specialist sports memorabilia auctioneer Graham Budd from May 16, each of the 491 75cl bottles is meticulously numbered, corresponding to significant fixtures managed by Klopp during his tenure. Notable among these is Bottle 206, commemorating Liverpool’s historic 4-0 victory over FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League at Anfield on May 7, 2019.
All proceeds from the auction will be directed to the LFC Foundation, the official charity of Liverpool FC, supporting various local causes championed by the club.
Louise Bach, Global Sponsorships Director at Carlsberg, expressed delight in celebrating Klopp’s remarkable journey and emphasized the initiative’s alignment with Carlsberg’s core value of curiosity. Dr. Stefan Kreisz, Chairman of the Management Board at Erdinger Weissbräu, echoed the sentiment, highlighting Klopp’s influence as a role model both in Liverpool and globally, and the joy the collaboration brings to countless enthusiasts.
The Believers Brew stands not only as a testament to Klopp’s enduring legacy but also as a symbol of unity, blending two distinct brewing cultures to create something truly unique, emblematic of the unity and camaraderie fostered by football.
