Azienda Agricola Montefiorito, a restored 17th-century monastery transformed into a luxury villa, is set to be auctioned.
Situated in Asti, within the esteemed Piedmont wine region, the 13-hectare estate features a wine cellar, a tasting area, two apartments, a church, landscaped gardens, and a swimming pool. The property includes 4.6 hectares of vineyards planted with Nebbiolo, Grignolino, Arneis, and Sauvignon Blanc, capable of producing up to 40,000 bottles of organic wine annually.
Bidding is expected to start between €1 million and €2 million, with a guide price set at €3.95 million (£3.4 million). Interested parties can find bidding details on the Concierge Auctions website.
Lodovico Pignatti Morano, owner and managing partner for Italy at Sotheby’s International Realty, highlighted the estate’s potential: “This Piedmont gem offers its next owner a variety of potential uses, including an excellent investment for a family home or event venue. Azienda Agricola Montefiorito blends old-world Italian heritage with modern living, making it a memorable destination for a home, visit, or entertaining. Despite its rural setting, it’s only an hour from Milan and Turin, providing a balance of tranquility and city excitement.”
Montefiorito, meaning “flower mountain,” reflects the estate’s rich biodiversity, which includes herons, eagles, wild boars, otters, deer, foxes, wild rabbits, and hares.
Current owner Ole Mikael Jensen, a Danish businessman, has meticulously renovated the estate over the past decade, preserving its historic charm with the help of top regional consultants.
Ben Podesta, director of business development for Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions, added, “The next owner of this remarkable Italian destination will acquire not only a prime piece of Italian real estate but also a history spanning more than 340 years.”
