Founded in 2003 and rebranded as ABAS in 2020, the distillery opened its “Distillery Story Hall” in 2022. This facility combines agriculture and tourism, offering visitors a chance to explore the brewery, sample its liquors, and learn about the local history of Da’an District, a former fishing village where fishers once used home-brewed rice wine to stay warm at sea.

Established in 2000, the SFWSC is the oldest and largest competition of its kind. A double gold medal is given to entries that receive unanimous gold ratings from the judges, while a gold medal signifies “exceptional spirits that are near the pinnacle of achievement.”
