SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Following the conviction of former President Donald Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, San Francisco bars are marking the occasion with themed drink specials.
Many liberal San Franciscans are celebrating the historic verdict, which found Trump guilty of covering up a $130,000 hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. While the conviction makes Trump the first former U.S. president found guilty of a crime, it does not bar him from running for office.
Several bars in the city are already offering Trump-themed beverages to commemorate the event. Jeffrey Kwong, president of the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club, expressed his excitement, telling The Standard, “If someone buys me a drink, I’m gonna buy them three. I’m overjoyed.”
Standard Deviant Brewing in the Mission is offering a special $10, 34-ounce beer to mark the 34 guilty counts. The brewery’s light Hefeweizen, described as cool, crisp, and tangy, is served in a hefty glass tankard at their taproom on 280 14th St. from 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday.
At the Cinch Saloon on 1723 Polk St. in Nob Hill, patrons can enjoy “The Orange Menace,” a cocktail made with vodka, orange juice, and bitters. This drink was available for $7 during happy hour from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and $8 afterward. The bar also offers $1 off well drinks and beers during happy hour.
In the Castro, Lookout at 3600 16th St. featured a $10 “Collusion Crush” and a $9 “Dark and Stormy Daniels” on Thursday night.
For those celebrating at home, The Standard provided AI-generated cocktail names to inspire Trump-themed drinks:
