Since its inception in 2004, DWWA has served as a platform to showcase exceptional producers from various corners of the world, spanning reds, whites, rosés, oranges, sparklings, fortified, and sweet wines.

Furthermore, the competition not only celebrates exemplary renditions of classic styles but also spotlights lesser-known wines deserving global recognition.

Gold medal recipients from the initial judging phase proceed to the Platinum and Best in Show rounds, where they undergo further evaluation and deliberation by DWWA Co-Chairs and Regional Chairs.

For consumers seeking to enrich their palates and explore new favorites, the array of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal wines provides a diverse selection for both everyday enjoyment and cellar investments.

To ensure inclusivity across all budgets, DWWA 2024 categorizes wines into five price bands, ranging from ‘up to £14.99’ in Band A to bottles priced at £100 and above in Band E.

This year’s DWWA Co-Chairs include Sarah Jane Evans MW, Michael Hill Smith AM MW, Andrew Jefford, Ronan Sayburn MS, and Beth Willard, the newest addition to the esteemed panel.

With sustainability at its core, the DWWA team upholds eco-conscious practices by recycling all plastic and cardboard materials, and repurposing every bottle within a 30-day cycle. Moreover, leftover wine is collected, recycled, and transformed into gas, contributing to the national energy grid.

The unveiling of DWWA 2024 results promises to be a celebration of excellence, diversity, and sustainable practices within the global wine industry.
