Aluna Rum has introduced its latest expression, Aluna Tropica, in the UK, with distribution managed by Mangrove Global. This new blend combines premium rums from Sri Lanka and the Caribbean with unique South Asian ingredients such as pandan leaf, spiced pineapple, lemongrass, and galangal.
Aluna Tropica is characterized by flavors of pineapple, lemongrass, and almonds, with a smooth finish of honeyed spice. It joins Aluna’s existing portfolio, which includes a coconut rum and two lower-sugar rum-based liqueurs: Cold Brew Coffee and Peach & Pomelo.
“We can’t wait for UK consumers to taste Aluna Tropica. The feedback has been incredible,” said Aluna co-founder Guy Ritchie. “It’s a less sugary, distinct flavored rum that’s as enjoyable neat as in a cocktail—perfect for summer.”
Bottled at 38% ABV, Aluna Tropica will be available from June 20 at an RRP of £32 (US$41).
Heather Graham, another co-founder of Aluna, added, “We aimed to move away from the traditional dark rums and sugary profiles. The freedom to select diverse premium rums and experiment with South Asian culinary ingredients has allowed us to create an appealing product for those seeking better drinks.”
Aluna is also committed to environmental sustainability as a member of 1% For The Planet, contributing 1% of total sales to support environmental non-profits.
Mangrove Global also distributes other premium brands including Indian single malt Indri, Lewis Hamilton’s Almave, and Canadian whisky Bearface.
